Purpose : The purpose of this study was to test the mediating effect of learner interaction on the relationship between grit and self-directed learning ability of nursing students in e-learning environments.
Method : Data were collected from September 15th to 30th, 2020 for 129 nursing students in college and analyzed using independent t-test, one way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and linear regression.
Result : There were significant positive relationships among grit, learner interaction, 4 and self-directed learning. In addition, learner interaction had a partial mediating role in the relationship between grit and self-directed learning.
Conclusion : The results of this study confirmed that learner interaction had a partial mediating effect on the relationship between grit and self-directed learning ability. The results can be utilized as important basic data for the level of learner interaction. Therefore nursing students need learner interaction motivation for e-learning class and educational programs in nursing courses in college.
